Martina G. Barnes, MS, LPC received her masters in counseling at Western Carolina University in 2000. She is a former grief counselor with CarePartners Hospice where she also served as a consultant in holistic treatment. Martina serves on the Board of Advisors and on staff at the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga as well as on the national board of the Susanne Marcus Collins Foundation for the support of the performing arts and humanitarian causes.

She is licensed by the state of North Carolina as an LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor and nationally by the NBCC, the National Board for Certified Counselors. She began mindfulness meditation training in 1984 and continues to teach meditation skills to individuals and groups. Martina is also a member of ISSD International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and EMDRIA, the EMDR International Association. She holds specialty training in bereavement counseling, depression, anxiety and trauma recovery, and is a level two EMDR clinician
